Here are 5 countries that don't exist anymore, Written By Milan Chandra.
The Socialist Federalist Republic of Yugoslavia.
This Socialist Country existed from the end of the Second World War when it was freed from Nazi Germany to its collapse in 1992. The country occupied modern-day Slovenia, Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Its leader for the majority of its existence was Joseph Broz Tito, who was in office when a split with the USSR occurred, which made the country neutral. Following Tito's death in 1980, the economy collapsed, and 10 years later, the country, with many different ethnic groups, went into a violent break-up.
2. Federal Republic of Central America
This little known country occupied most of Central America, and the Mexican state of Chiapas from 1823 to 1841. It's fate was clear from the start, as local law and order quickly broke down, and later a Civil War. Today, all five independent countries that formerly made up the country share a flag similar to this country. Later Central American Unions always ended in failure.
3. The Empire of Brazil
This Country occupied all of Brazil and Uruguay at its greatest extent. It was around from 1822 to 1889. It was created when Napolean invaded Portugal. The King fled to the largest Portuguese colony, Brazil. The country had a lot of economic growth, and a lot of rights, like freedom of speech, but slavery was still there, although it was a topic of fierce debate. It was finnaly abolished in 1888, right before the Empire came to an end. It was even considered an international power, having won 3 international wars. After a decline brought by a lazy ruler and a heir with no desire to assume the throne, the Empire experienced a coup by some military dictators, which led to a dictator, and the First Brazilian Republic.
4. Tanna Tuva People's Republic
This communist state situated between Mongolia and the USSR lasted from 1921-1944. In 1929, after the Prime Minister started limiting Soviet influence and started pushing theocratic policies, a Soviet backed coup took control. This government basically wanted to raze anything to the ground that had the slightest thing to do with Buddhism. During WW2, the country helped the USSR in every way it could, even donating all of it's gold reserve worth about 20,000,000 rubles. It's end came when it was absorbed into Russia. Their flag has changed so much that I'm not gonna bother. They all have a red background, and a symbol in the center.
5. Hawaiian Kingdom
The Hawaiian Kingdom, situated in modern-day Hawaii, was around from 1795-1893. It was recognized by many major powers, and the US was it's main trading partner, and watched over the nation to protect it from others. However, it's distance from the US made it so that during an invasion, the US would be slow to react, and this happened twice, although it's sovereignty was restored. It's end came when the US annexed it, and apologized for this 100 years later.
Very cool 😎
