On Friday, May 27th, an EF-0 tornado touched down in Olney, MD.
The tornado briefly touched down and lasted for about a quarter-mile and brought winds near 80 mph along with it. The tornado was summoned with the first line of storms at around 12:22-12:23 pm.
Damage:
The tornado didn't do too much damage, but it did uproot or snap 12-15 trees and knocked down many tree limbs as well. As a result of this, vehicles parked in at least one driveway were damaged. Eyewitnesses remarked that swirling debris was associated with this storm, a key characteristic of a tornado. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Late in the evening the same day, an EF-1 tornado was reported in southern Maryland (Charlotte Hall and Benedict) and brought 90 mph winds, toppled trees, and house damage. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported again.
