Update II (11:00, 6-14)

We still could have a scattered shower or storm into the mid-afternoon, but the main storm system has pretty much disintegrated. Highs are still expected to reach the low to mid-80s followed by clearing skies.

Update (8:53, 6-14)

The storm system predicted from yesterday to come through this morning is now looking much less threatening. It is currently expected to come through during the mid to late morning and bring some showers and maybe a few rumbles of thunder. Scattered severe storms and heavy rain remains possible. Additionally, highs will be a little cooler than forecast in the 80-85 degree range.

Update (8:53, 6-14)

Overview: An intense line of storms is expected to move through early tomorrow (Tuesday), possibly bringing derecho-like winds.

Quick forecast:

Tuesday: Clearing skies, highs in the mid-80s to around 90, strong to severe morning storms or showers, then a slight chance for an isolated storm or shower.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, lows in the upper-60s to around 70.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, highs in the upper-80s to the low-90s, slight chance for an isolated afternoon shower or storm.

Detailed forecast:

Through tonight (Monday): Scattered showers and storms remain a possibility overnight, though should mostly end before midnight. Overall it will be a really muggy night with lows around 70 and calm winds. Confidence: Medium-High.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): An intense line of storms, possibly an MCS (Mesoscale Convective System), will move through the area likely between 6-11 am, with lingering showers or storms possible afterward. This storm system has a small chance of bringing derecho-like conditions (torrential rainfall, very damaging winds) if it hits us dead on. However, if the storm heads more to the north, we could see weaker winds and lighter rain. Given this information, I think the most likely outcome will be gusty

showers with maybe a few rumbles of thunder. Given the timing of this system, I believe that a small chance for a delay to school exists. After the system moves through, highs should make their way to the mid-80s to around 90 with muggy dewpoints around the 70s. Skies will also begin to clear out with light winds and a slight chance for a late, isolated shower or storm. Confidence: Medium.

Tomorrow night: A slight chance for an isolated shower or storm in the evening. Lows are muggy and fall into the upper-60s to around 70 under mostly clear skies with calm winds. Confidence: Medium-High.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny skies and muggy (dew points around 70) with highs around in the upper-80s to the low-90s. There will be a slight chance for an isolated shower or storm in the afternoon with light southern winds. Confidence: Medium-High.

Wednesday night: Clouds move in, as early as the late afternoon, to cause a mostly cloudy night. Lows should be muggy and fall to around 70 again with southeastern winds at around 5 mph. Confidence: Medium-High.

Thursday: Partly sunny skies with highs in the upper-80s to the low-90s and southeastern winds at 5-10 mph. A cold front will approach from the Ohio River Valley, giving us a chance for showers and storms in the afternoon to evening. Confidence: Medium.

Thursday night: Storms and showers chance remain until a little after midnight or so under mostly cloudy skies. Lows fall to around 70 to the low-70s with western winds at 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium-Low.
