We all know how annoying it can be when a friend signs you out of your chromebook; or maybe sometimes you are a victim of misclicking. So, why don't we turn off that feature?
Glossary:
Ctrl= Control
Shift= Shift
Alt= Alt
Search= Search/Launcher button
When there is a plus (Example: Command_Key + Button) between keys, only press those two keys; don't include the plus (+) unless directed.
First, we need to open a new tab: Click Ctrl + T
Once you have done that, look to the top right corner of your screen. You should see a puzzle piece, underneath the minimize, maximize and close buttons.
Then you should see "manage extensions." Go ahead and click that.
It should take you to this page: (Click the menu icon)
Click on "Keyboard Shortcuts." When the screen pops up, click the pencil icon next to the "Chrome Web Store Launcher (by Google)."
Click the pencil icon. Press Ctrl + Shift + Q ONCE. Anymore times will log you out your chromebook.
Now, try pressing Ctrl + Shift + QQ. It should open something like this:
Pros:
Easy to do, opens something useful, bypasses the function temporarily
Cons:
Spam clicking Ctrl + Shift + QQ will sometimes sign you out of your Chromebook, commonly known shortcut, works out of Chome
To save your tabs, go to settings; apps and set "restore apps on startup" to always.
Another way is to go to settings; device; keyboard and look for "Ctrl." Switch it to your key of choice.
Pros:
Easy bypass, simple
Cons:
Easy to figure out, most common keybind switch for CTRL is ALT (ALT + Shift +QQ)
