Last night - February 23rd night, the Russian military invaded Ukraine. Russia’s assault began hours before dawn with a series of missile attacks against locations near Kyiv and the use of long-range artillery against the city of Kharkiv, near the Russian border. US President Joe Biden announced new “strong” sanctions on Russia and limitations on exports as he condemned President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, calling him an "aggressor."
In the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, subway stations have become improvised bunkers. Witnesses in the city said that the stations are full of people carrying supplies, organized in groups.
