In my opinion yes and no. I understand that teachers need to make sure you are focused and not cheating on tests and during class. When they take your phone and give it back to you at the end of class, that is fine, but taking or sending it to the office should not be allowed.
If a student is on their phone and was given a warning and then asked to shut off their phone and put it on the teacher's desk and told that they would get it back at the end of class should be allowed. If there is an emergency and the student doesn't have access to getting their phone because it was sent to the office they probably would not have a way to call for help. I know that other students might have their phones but still, the more contact for help is better so what would you say would you agree or not?
