The Geneva convention bans collective punishment. Apparently, MCPS also does. "Students are Disciplined based on their individual conduct." If you are absent, unless you bring a note from your parents, you will be marked absent and unexcused. This appears to mean that any note from your parents will make your absence excused, but don't quote me on that! Even more interestingly, this note must be delivered only within three days, so you don't even need to bring it the next day! Next, while you can be market absent for induvial periods, you only need to be at school for four hours (2 hours on a half day) for you to be marked as present, so keep that in mind when planning the next family trip! Finally, if an assignment is turned in after the due date, but before the deadline, then it can't be moved down more than 10 points, and not a letter grade. So, this means you can turn in an assignment after the due date, get an 8/10, and your grade can't be lowered!
