The Joro Spider

The Joro Spider, or the Trichonephila Clavata, is an invasive spider that originated from Asia, and most likely hitched a ride from a ship. The spider was first found in Georgia in 2013. Millions of these spiders are now spreading up the east coast and are moving towards the area. The spider is yellow and black and is about palm size. It mainly eats bugs such as stinkbugs, beetles, ladybugs, etc. They commonly will weave webs in trees, so watch out for low-lying webs while riding a bike or running. The spider can bite, so try to leave it alone.
