Tilden's Forecast (Weekend and Monday)

Overview: Weekend highs above 90, with tomorrow (Saturday) possibly breaking heat records ahead of a much cooler Monday.

Quick forecast:

Saturday: Mostly sunny, highs in the mid-90s, slight chance for a storm or shower. My rating: 2/10.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, lows around 70 to the mid-70s, slight chance for a storm or shower.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, highs in the low to mid-90s, later day thunderstorms, possibly severe. My rating: 2.5/10.

Detailed forecast

Through tonight (Friday): Lows will only fall to the low to mid-70s as clouds become mostly clear while the night wears on and with winds blowing from the southwest at 5-10 mph. There will also be a very slight chance for a storm or shower. Confidence: Medium-High.

Tomorrow (Saturday): Temperatures will become outrageously warm for May, with multiple heat records on the line as highs mainly hit the mid-90s, with some spots possibly seeing the upper-90s. Dew points are uncomfortably high, too, in the mid-60s. Given the heat and humidity, there will be a slight chance for an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm under mostly sunny skies with southern winds around 5-mph. Confidence: Medium-High.

Tomorrow night: Lows will fall to around 70 to the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies and southern winds at 5-10 mph along with another slight chance for a storm or shower. Confidence: Highs-Medium.

Sunday: Highs will be a little cooler in the low to mid-90s, while dew points are a little warmer at around 70. Skies should be mostly sunny with winds from the southwest at 5-10 mph again. A cold front will move through the area which will likely bring thunderstorms during the afternoon to evening hours, some of which may be severe. Any updates regarding the storm threat will be posted in the comments section. Confidence: Medium.

Sunday night: Behind the cold front lows should fall into the cooler lower to mid-60s with showers and thunderstorms possible overnight under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will shift to the north and blow at around 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-Low.

Monday: Rain showers and/or mostly cloudy skies could possibly rule the day, leading highs to be in the 70s. Depending on if there are fewer or more clouds and showers, highs may be warmer or cooler. Confidence: Low.

Monday night: Overnight lows in the mid-50s to around 60 under mostly cloudy skies and light-moderate winds. Confidence: Low.

Updates: The cold front will likely bring thunderstorms with it, with some being strong or severe. Main threats right now are damaging winds and hail. These storms are most likely to come through the 3-9 pm range with weaker lingering storms or showers possible into the night.

Monday should have lots of clouds and highs in the low to mid-70s, with a shower or two possible.
