Monkeypox cases confirmed in DC and Virginia

The Monkeypox virus is spreading across the United States and the DMV. DC and Virginia reported their first cases. This virus is a less-severe cousin of the Smallpox virus. Dr. Sanjay Gupta says it has been spreading among younger people as they are less likely to have been inoculated against Smallpox, which was eradicated in 1977. The first cases in the United States were confirmed in 2003, and the virus is spreading very rapidly recently.

We do not know the exact symptoms or how the virus is spreading. However, the US government is recommending Americans get the smallpox vaccine and stay safe.
