The number of COVID-19 patients in the United States who are hospitalized' record reached a record low, though the new type of Omicron variant is spreading. Some doctors and scientists said it offers a much needed break to health care workers and patients alike following the omicron surge.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 has fallen more than 90% in more than two months, and some hospitals are going days without a single COVID-19 patient in the ICU for the first time since early 2020. CDC directors are thinking that this record low is happening because of developed vaccines and treatment. US President Joe Biden got 2nd booster last week, also pushing Congress to supply more funding for vaccines, treatment and testing.
