The Capitals continued their road trip by playing at Vegas. Even though the Capitals lost 4-3 in overtime, Alex Ovechkin picked up his 50th goal of the season. The Capitals are currently tied for third place with the Pittsburg Penguins and could maybe surpass them. That would give them a better seed and, hopefully, an easier opponent.

1st Period: 1-1.

The scoring started a little after 6 minutes into the game by Evgeny Kuznetsov who tapped in a rebounded shot by Alex Ovechkin. The Knights responded with a 5-hole goal by Alec Martinez.

2nd Period: 2-1 Caps.

The only goal for this period came about three minutes in to the period and was scored by Alex Ovechkin on a 2-1 one-timer with Evgeny Kuznetsov.

3rd Period: 3-3.

The Knights started the third period by scoring two goals in just 50 seconds. The first by Evgenii Dadonov and the second by Chandler Stephenson on the powerplay. Ovechkin tied it up 13 minutes in with a slap shot.

Overtime: 4-3 Vegas (Final).

Shea Theodore got the finisher for Vegas with a backhander. Final score: 4-3 Vegas (Overtime).
