Today (3-21), a fire alarm was activated at approximately 2:05 pm. Students and teachers alike exited the building as orderly and calm as possible as sirens blared from the ceilings. The fire department was called as students and teachers remained outside.
"This was not planned." Remarked a Tilden administrator during the event. "This could take a while."
And at around 2:30 pm, principal Irina LaGrange reported that the school was confirmed to be "safe" to enter by the fire department and that students were to receive their items from their sixth-period class and then proceed to their seventh-period class. This resulted in most seventh-period classes getting at most 20 minutes compared to the usual 45.
What caused the alarm?
That is the question on everyone's mind, isn't it? A TNN member interviewed Tilden Security. Tilden Security said that a student had accidentally pulled down the fire alarm. While the student's identity remains unknown, we can assume that Tilden will work on making sure this instance does not reoccur.
