After US President Joe Biden announced his secretary to send to Ukraine, US Officials Secretary of State Antony Blinken Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for 3 hours. US Secretary of State Blinken said the meeting between top American and Ukrainian officials happened at a time when Russia is failing in its primary goal. Ukraine President Zelenskyy said his country is committed to winning its country’s fight against Russia and that the United States will help achieve that goal.
Also today, US President Joe Biden nominated Bridget Brink (the current U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia) as US Ambassador to Ukraine. She is from Michigan, started working in the State Department in 1996, and can speak Russian and Serbian, as well as basic Georgian and French.
