After being robbed of our win on Tuesday against North Bethesda, we prepared for the last game of our season.
On Thursday, we played Pyle who have been undefeated. Their girls' team had beaten our girls' team 10-0. Many fans showed up at our game, and it was time to prove that we were the better team. An early goal from Bereket gave us the lead. Dylan Byrd almost scored our second, but was fouled and brought down right outside of the box. After countless fouls and 6 yellows, a Pyle player got a double yellow (red card). Will Kreisle then made the goal margin even higher after scoring a header in the second half. The fans were incredibly loud and eventually, the referee made the fans leave and watch from Pyle's outdoor basketball court. Despite receiving a red card at some point, Pyle had 11 players on the pitch. Mr. Miller pointed that out and eventually grew angrier when the referee was hesitant to handle the situation. Due to Coach Miller's reprimands, he received a yellow card too!
Throughout the game Tilden suffered 3 injuries, Anthony (CB) fell badly on his back after an aerial duel and Bryan H. (RW) hurt his calf after a Pyle player fouled him. Later in the game the Tilden goalkeeper Andrew Corrado was trying to get the ball when his face clashed another player, and began bleeding like crazy. Moryah and Mr. Desiena performed a 'surgery' and got all the blood of him and bandaged his chin. In spite of being hurt, he was able to go get back into the game. He was a key player in Tilden's win.
The game ended with a score of 2-0 Tilden, and breaking Pyle's win streak, ending our season with 2 wins, a draw, and 2 losses.
